Everyone Who Acknowledges Me Before Others, I Will Acknowledge Before My Heavenly Father

Are you willing to acknowledge Jesus before others? Discover why sharing your faith openly matters and the beautiful promise Jesus gives to those who follow Him.

Jesus saved us from original sin and reopened the gates of Heaven. How do we respond to such an incredible gift? The answer may offer a glimpse into what awaits us in eternity.

Many people go through life focused on their own plans without ever mentioning Jesus. They rarely speak to God, attend Mass, thank Him for their blessings, or bring Him up in conversation. In today’s culture, people mention Jesus so infrequently that when someone does, it almost catches me off guard.

Many of us get the impression that talking about God is not socially acceptable. At home, I say grace before every meal with my family. Yet in a public restaurant, I sometimes hesitate. We often allow peer pressure to influence us and we worry about what others might think if they see us pray.

Jesus calls all of us to share the Good News. We cannot do that if we are afraid to speak about Him in public. We must also be willing to speak up when others are doing wrong. When we remain silent, we can unintentionally encourage sinful behavior. Society may tell us that certain topics are off limits, but if no one speaks the truth, sin spreads to even more people.

A strong relationship with God involves more than private prayer. We naturally talk about the people we love. We speak about our family and friends because they matter to us. The same should be true of our relationship with God.

Keep talking about Him. Do not worry about what others think. Acknowledge Jesus before others, and when you stand before Him, He will acknowledge you before His Heavenly Father.
