Children of God

We are a people of many professions and vocations. Some people are called to get married, others are called to be single, and the ones who I especially look up to are those who choose the call to the religious life. When we get our vocation calling right, God uses that vocation to help lead us to Heaven.

Everything we choose to do in this lifetime should be directing us to Heaven. Sin is bad because it leads us away from our goal. We should find things to do in life that help keep us busy and fulfilled. If we stay busy, we won’t have much time to sin. People who are unfulfilled in life are more likely to stray off the path in search of fulfillment. It’s nice when we find a job that we not only love, but also pays well. However, we shouldn’t look at the salary to determine what career we want to pursue. Money may make life easier, but it doesn’t make us happier.

If married life is the vocation that we feel called towards, just remember that there are many attractive people out there, but we shouldn’t choose our spouse primarily based on appearance. When people choose relationships based on superficial measurements, they are often left unfulfilled and unhappy. People sometimes treat their spouses as things that can be discarded. A good spouse is one we want to hold on to and is one who will help lead us to Heaven. That’s why we need to seriously discern who we choose as our spouse. The husband should help his wife get to Heaven and the wife should help her husband get to Heaven.

When we finish building something, we don’t need the tools that we used to build it anymore, unless it needs to be repaired. When we get to Heaven, we will be in a perfect place and in a perfect condition and neither will need repair. We won’t need to get married or become a priest in Heaven because we have achieved our goal. We will always have a special relationship in Heaven with those whom we loved in this life, but we will all be united with each other as children of God for all eternity and we will worship our Father together.
